Located behind Food City on Hwy. 11W in Church Hill, A.S. Derrick Park is a well-maintained city park situated on the Holston River. Heavily used year-round, the park is popular with anglers, walkers and runners, as well as families seeking a place to picnic or play. Just across the creek, little league ball fields draw scores of youth throughout the spring baseball season. For those looking for a little more leisurely endeavors, the park offers a lovely view of the Holston River and plenty of wooden swings from which to enjoy it. Modern bathrooms are open for public use and picnic shelters are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The park features paved walking trail, a children’s playground, open spaces, picnic shelters, wooden swings, restroom facilities and a boat ramp.
